Caution: A number of con artists have been using this site to search for targets.  One of the main tactics is to ask for payment to be wired to an account and then deactivating their email address.  This is still a relatively rare occurrence but it has been happening recently enough to warrant this advisory note.

The Editors of H-France advise you to use caution when interacting with prospective landlords overseas, even if they advertise on this site.  Most reputable landlords can provide references from previous tenants or accept payment through a more protected means such as Paypal.

CHARMING AND SPACIOUS ONE-BEDROOM AVAILABLE IN THE 11TH ARRONDISSEMENT, MONTHLY OR SEMESTERLY:
Located on a quiet street in charming 1930 art deco building with period details, in a leafy and green part of the 11th arrondissement, 2 minutes from metro Saint-Maur and 7 minutes from metro Saint-Ambroise, with easy access to Bastille and République, and a 15 minute walk to the Marais. The building is safe, with a digicode, and a helpful, live-on gardienne on the ground floor. This is my apartment that I completely refurbished in November 2014, so the kitchen, bathroom, and appliances are all brand-new.
Perfect for a couple or one person (and accommodating guests on the double sofa bed in the LR), it is 53 square meters, bright and calm, with wood floors and molding. Overlooking both a courtyard and a small one-way street with very little traffic. On the 1st floor (the American second floor) with elevator. It opens into a long hallway lined with several large closets, and includes: a bathroom with a tiled italian shower, washer and separate dryer (rare for Paris apartments!); separate toilet; a spacious bedroom with a new double bed, a desk, a television, and a wall entirely lined with hanging closets, bookshelves and drawers; a living-room/dining room with three windows, furnished with a round dining table that seats 4 and expands to seat 6, a convertible sofa, bookshelves. The kitchen is an open kitchen, with all new high-end appliances (Bosch and Siemens) including fridge and separate freezer, induction stovetop, oven, dishwasher and microwave.
The apartment is finished with bed linens and towels, and the kitchen is equipped with all cooking equipment, utensils, dishes and cutlery.
Just minutes from the popular Oberkampf area, it is located on the corner of the trendy Rue Saint Maur, with cafes, restaurants and wine bars. There are good boulangeries, a butcher and cheese shop, a wine shop, a flower shop and several large grocery stores within just one to two blocks on the Rue Saint Maur. The neighborhood is great, with wide tree-lined avenues, typically Parisian apartment buildings, the large verdant Square Gardette just a few blocks away, and a vibrant feel to this now-stylish area.
Price: 1600€/month, available by the month or the semester. The rent includes management fees, heat (collective furnace heating), hot water, and Wifi and cable TV (free unlimited calls worldwide). Electricity is separate. One month security deposit requested and returned after departure. No smoking.
Available as of September 1.
