Caution: A number of con artists have been using this site to search for targets.  One of the main tactics is to ask for payment to be wired to an account and then deactivating their email address.  This is still a relatively rare occurrence but it has been happening recently enough to warrant this advisory note. 

The Editors of H-France advise you to use caution when interacting with prospective landlords overseas, even if they advertise on this site.  Most reputable landlords can provide references from previous tenants or accept payment through a more protected means such as Paypal.

Christmas break in Paris: December 13, 2014-January 6, 2015. Charming 1-bedroom apartment (50m2) in a wonderful neighborhood near the Buttes chaumont (metro Jourdain). The living room and dining room, separated by double doors, receive lots of light in the afternoon. When the doors are closed the dining room can be used as an office or to welcome an overnight guest (pull out bed). The bathroom and kitchen are both small but fully functional, with a gas stove and range, microwave, dishes, pots and pans, etc. The bedroom is in the back overlooking a small courtyard. The apartment is on the fourth and top floor, and there is no elevator. An efficient electric heating system was installed last year and the windows are double-paned for coziness. The neighborhood is very charming, with no shortage of cute local shops, cafés, and access to quality meats, fish, cheese and vegetables (the market at the Place des fêtes is only two blocks away, as are the shops on the rue de Belleville! The park (buttes chaumont) is a five-minute walk, and the 11 line gets you to the center quickly. You won't want to leave! We are looking for an individual or couple that we can trust with our place and our things while we are away. I am looking to sublet my Paris apartment from December 15-January 15. I can be flexible on these dates.

It is a very nice one bedroom - fully furnished - apartment, which also includes a washing machine, television, printer and other amenities. The apartment is located in the Marais/3rd arrondissement and is a short walk  from several major archives in Paris. The closest metros are Temple (line 3) and Republic (3,5,8,9 11). The apartment can accommodate 2 people and there is a very nice pull out couch for a guest. The apartment is located off Rue Dupetit-Thouars which is a fantastic street for  restaurants, boutiques, and cafes. For being almost in the center of Paris, the apartment building is unusually quiet.

For rent : 13 oct-9 nov 2014. During my vacation I rent my apartment. Good location near Pere Lachaise (metro Père Lachaise, saint Maur, or saint Ambroise).
