Caution: A number of con artists have been using this site to search for targets. One of the main tactics is to ask for payment to be wired to an account and then deactivating their email address. This is still a relatively rare occurrence but it has been happening recently enough to warrant this advisory note.  The Editors of H-France advise you to use caution when interacting with prospective landlords overseas, even if they advertise on this site. Most reputable landlords can provide references from previous tenants or accept payment through a more protected means such as Paypal.

A quiet and comfortable, exceptionally situated, light-flooded one bedroom apartment, looking out over the roofs of Paris, 28m2, giving distant views of the Louvre, Opera, and rooftops. Has been a well loved home for scholars: 3 PhDs so far! Prefer long-term tenant (1 year +) ideally. The apartment is located in the first arrondissement (central Paris) on rue Villedo, near the Louvre, Comédie Française, the old Bibliothèque Nationale, with nearby gardens including the Palais Royale and the Tuileries. It is on the seventh floor in a quiet 18th c. building, an easy and handsome easy staircase, but no elevator as not uncommon in this area.
The apartment has a separate clothes washer and compact dryer, small kitchen with window, TV, a queen-sized size bed and a small fold out sofa in the living room for guests, dining table with chairs, bookshelves, writing desk with Aeron typing chair. Very well fit out and comfortable in a small, quiet, residential building between rue St Anne and rue de Richelieu.
Closest Metros are Pyramide and Palais Royale, surrounded by network of metro (subway) lines and buses or easy to bike everywhere. A good writing space and also a great neighborhood, fantastic for food, markets, public gardens, passages, walks etc.
