Caution: A number of con artists have been using this site to search for targets.  One of the main tactics is to ask for payment to be wired to an account and then deactivating their email address.  This is still a relatively rare occurrence but it has been happening recently enough to warrant this advisory note. 

The Editors of H-France advise you to use caution when interacting with prospective landlords overseas, even if they advertise on this site.  Most reputable landlords can provide references from previous tenants or accept payment through a more protected means such as Paypal.

Available 15-30 March 2015, a quiet, furnished and well-lit 1 BR apartment in the 18th arrondissement of Paris.
The apartment is 29 m2, wooden floors, windows (double glass) front and back, furnished in bohemian style (I'm a post-doc at the EHESS with little money but with taste and a nose for finding nice stuff cheap). The living-room has a large desk, a couch which is also a single bed, a beautiful carpet from Kairouan, and a built-in kitchen with a large fridge and a washing machine. The bedroom has a large mattress, bookshelves (with nice books!) and a closet for clothes. The bathroom is entirely new with a very good shower.
The apartment is situated on the fourth floor (no elevator) in a building on a quiet ally in the charming quartier of Rue du Poteau and Rue Damrémont. Close to lines 4 and 13. Nice 20 minute walk from Les Abbesses and Montmartre.
