Are you a faculty member or dissertation researcher looking for a Paris apartment for the 2015-2016 American academic year--defined as August 13, 2015 through May 15, 2016?  My apartment in the Oberkampf district of the 11th arrondissement will be available for a single rental between those dates.   A September rather than an August start date is possible, but the May 15 end date is fixed. The apartment, 42 sq. meters, completely furnished, 2 rooms, full kitchen, large bath is spacious for one person; it can also accommodate a couple (double bed); it is not suitable for two roommates. On the fifth floor (no elevator), the apartment is light and sunny. The living room looks out on a quiet street and has a western exposure. The bedroom looks onto a spacious courtyard (also quiet) and has an eastern exposure. The apartment has gas heat and comes with linens, dishes, a washing machine, a telephone, a television, and cable internet. Ikea-type furniture.  Well equipped with ample work space as well as bookcases, it is ideal for a visiting scholar. The neighborhood is wonderful: the building is on a small, quiet street off lively rue Oberkampf, which is lined with shops, markets, and cafés.  It is close to metro stations Parmentier, Oberkampf, and St. Ambroise (3 different lines). The Bastille is within walking distance.  I am looking for a mature, clean, responsible tenant.  Pets and smoking in the apartment are not allowed.  Rent, tbd because of the fluctuating exchange rate, and security deposit are payable in USD.  If you think this apartment and you might be a good match for each other, please send an email to that effect to lmartens@hotmail.com.
