H-France Housing Digest

This service is provided to subscribers of H-France to connect people offering housing in France with people in need of housing. To post a housing notice, please follow the following guidelines:

Only subscribers to H-France may post on this site. To subscribe, go to our subscriber page at www.h-france.net/subscribe.html. H-France only lists postings of housing offered or sought in France. Properties outside France will be posted only if they are being offered in exchange for a property in France. Subscribed members should send their postings directly to the H-France listserv (H-FRANCE@LISTS.UAKRON.EDU). It will be forwarded to the housing editor, who will post it on this page and distribute a weekly digest of new postings to H-France subscribers. Please allow one week for your housing notice to be posted. Be sure to include all necessary information: contact information, general description of the location, general description of the apartment, dates apartment is available, rental price.

This page is updated on a weekly basis. All postings will be removed after four weeks. Accommodations that are still available after that time will need to be resubmitted. The publication of these notices does not constitute their endorsement by H-France. H-France will not post any notices that are discriminatory in any manner.

Caution: A number of con artists have been using this site to search for targets. One of the main tactics is to ask for payment to be wired to an account and then deactivating their email address. This is still a relatively rare occurrence but it has been happening recently enough to warrant this advisory note.  The Editors of H-France advise you to use caution when interacting with prospective landlords overseas, even if they advertise on this site. Most reputable landlords can provide references from previous tenants or accept payment through a more protected means such as Paypal.

PARIS 1ST ARR. NEAR PALAIS ROYALE, 1-BD FURNISHED, SUNNY, FROM END MAY 2018:
A quiet and comfortable, exceptionally situated, light-flooded one bedroom apartment, looking out over the roofs of Paris, 28m2, giving distant views of the Louvre, Opera, and rooftops. Has been a well loved home for scholars: 3 PhDs so far! Prefer long term tenant (1 year +) ideally. The apartment is located in the first arrondissement (central Paris) on rue Villedo, near the Louvre, Comédie Française, the old Bibliothèque Nationale, with nearby gardens including the Palais Royale and the Tuileries. It is on the seventh floor in a quiet 18th c. building, an easy and handsome staircase, but no elevator as not uncommon in this area.
The apartment has a separate clothes washer and compact dryer, small kitchen with window, TV, a queen-sized size bed and a small fold out sofa in the living room for guests, dining table with chairs, bookshelves, writing desk with Aeron typing chair. Very well fit out and comfortable in a small, quiet, residential building between rue St Anne and rue de Richelieu.
Closest Metros are Pyramide and Palais Royale, surrounded by network of metro (subway) lines and buses or easy to bike everywhere. A good writing space and also a great neighborhood, fantastic for food, markets, public gardens, passages, walks etc.
Rent: 1200 Euros/month with one month security. Rent includes all building charges, phone/internet, and electricity. We charge a 150E final cleaning fee which can be taken from the security deposit. End date is flexible (but prefer 6 month minimum). Let us know if you have any questions. We do ask for references and inspections are possible. Happy to answer questions, send photos, or arrange a visit. Cheers. Michael. Email: Paris.villedo@gmail.com
