The entry of the building requires an access code plus a buzzer downstairs. Both the Parc de Belleville - a beautiful garden overlooking Paris - and the Parc des Buttes Chaumonts - the most original park in the city - are very close to the apartment. It only takes a two minute walk to get to the metro station, on Line 11, and about 10 minutes from there to reach the center of the city. There is also a bus stop nearby as well as several bicycles station. The area has plenty of wonderful stores - bakery, meat stores, organic markets - and delicious little restaurants and bars. The Presbyter is near Argentan, in a very charming old village (Rânes), with a castle and a public park, and a lot of services with a very good quality (butcher, bakery, 2 restaurants, 2 doctors, 1 pharmacy, a small supermarket). By train, it’s around 100 minutes far from Paris to Argentan and then it’s possible to take a cab. Omaha beach and Caen are less than 1 hour from the house. All the countryside is really beautiful (forêt des Andaines, Bagnoles de l’Orne, the “Suisse normande” is closed) and famous for animal husbandry
Destroyed during the French Revolution, the Presbyter « La Chanoinie » was rebuilt around 1820 and, considering that the place was inhabited by several canons, the house looks like a family house. It has five bedrooms, with 3 bathrooms, old furniture, chimneys, and parquet. The house is equipped with washing machine, dishwasher (but no internet), and overhead projector for cinema. The very nice garden, around 7000 sq meters closed by walls, is full of trees, fruits and flowers, and a real Eden for kids.
